Sylyn, born as Sylvia Ford, was born and raised in Arkansas by her loving grandmother, Mary.
Sylyn has loved to dance and sing since she was a little girl. She would plan and perform talent shows for her grandmother daily; performing Whitney Houston, Cher, MC Hammer, and much more.
She started writing poetry around the age of 11 and would later turn her poetry into songs. Sylyn’s inspirations in music include Johnny Taylor, Gladys Knight, Jazmine Sullivan, and Sam Cooke. Sylyn got her gift of singing from her father, but didn’t learn that until later In life, finding out that he was apart of a singing group in Memphis, TN.
With her unique voice and her ability to create beautiful lyrics, Sylyn is ready to share her story with her upcoming album, Complicated Me.
